Social Media is Like Racing Fuel for Lawyers

Most of you know I grew up riding and racing motocross. Up until a few years ago, you could find old #28 down at the Southern California tracks riding with friends and racing in the 40 and over Vet Series on weekends.

Turning laps, negotiating whoops, and clearing the jumps were things we enjoyed doing each week. Those of us who sprang for the more expensive high octane VP racing fuel enjoyed the additional snap and performance the fuel added to our weekend efforts and racing results.

Similar to what I experienced on the motocross track, I’ve noticed that adding social media to my law firm’s marketing efforts is a lot like adding high-performance racing fuel to our branding efforts. Things happen much faster.

What I’ve also noticed about adding social media to the legal profession is that with this extra power comes new responsibilities (or opportunities if you’re a glass-half-full kind of guy or gal). Just like we paid attention to, and took advantage of, the extra horsepower our racing fuel provided during races, law firms using social media also need to get ready for the new volume of emails, direct messages, and other incoming engagements that will come flying their way.

When you tap into the power of social media, you’re riding on a brand new track. Everything’s faster, the whoops are deeper, and the jumps are longer. At the same time, the potential rewards are also much greater!

In our LegalMinds Mastermind community, we show everyone how to add this new digital racing fuel to their daily business development efforts. We help our community create a powerful digital top-of-mind awareness that with a bit of knowledge, practice and time, enables them to expand their brand from local to global.

When you’re ready to raise the bar and take things to the next level, step away from the spectators in the stands and join us over at the stating gate at LegalMinds (not just for lawyers). I think you’ll quickly discover the power of social media and what all the excitement is about in this close-knit global mastermind community.
