Andrew Rene Hernandez, a 22-year-old Hollywood man was arrested on a Felony misdemeanor count of unsafe operation of an unmanned aircraft after crashing his drone into the Los Angels Police Department helicopter. If convicted, he is looking at a significant fine and up to one year in jail. It’s also believed this is the first criminal case in the nation on this type of allegation.
It’s worth noting that this week is National Drone Safety Awareness Week, which is sponsored by the Federal Aviation Administration and seeks to promote drone safety.
Every now and then I enjoy tossing my Phantom 3 Professional drone up in the sky and sharing amazing shots of Southern California’s oceans, beaches and mountains. Conditions permitting, I’ve also been known to live stream my flights on Periscope (click here to subscribe and watch). If you’d like to see what I’ve been up to, please stop by my new Instagram account at California.drone
If there’s a particular site you’d like me to shoot in Southern California, please reach out and I’ll try to make it happen!
Tossed the drone up early Tuesday morning while live streaming through Periscope. Hope you enjoy the bird’s-eye view as much I do sharing it with you. Click here to watch and follow me on Twitter and Periscope (@MitchJackson) for real-time links and shows 😉
