Why I’m Sharing Legal Plans with My Social Media Friends and You Should Too!

Online Business Owners Can Now Have a Top-Rated Law Firm on Retainer for Less Than the Price of a Cup of Coffee Per Day!

The most popular interview and speaking topics I’ve shared over the last couple of years revolve around showing online business owners and influencers how to protect their legal interests.

Online business owners want to get their legal questions answered but most don’t know where to start. They want to learn what they must legally do to safely start and operate their online businesses but can’t afford an expensive lawyer. In fact, because there were so many people that wanted to learn more about this topic after my Social Media Day San Diego speech, I took the time to write and share this post, “Talking Points From My “Legal” Presentation at Social Media Day San Diego 2017.”

Having a lawyer on retainer isn’t an option. In today’s world, I believe it’s a necessity.

In fact, I’m not aware of a single successful online business that doesn’t have a retainer relationship a with a top-notch attorney. Contracts, liability, intellectual property rights, and tax issues all make doing business too complicated to try and figure things out as you go.

The problem I see over and over is that most online business owners just don’t appreciate this need. Others don’t want to deal with the hassle of finding and hiring a lawyer. Some who are smart enough to know they need access to a lawyer are unable to afford the high costs.

Hey, I’m a lawyer. I get it! Dealing with lawyers isn’t why you’re doing business.

But here’s the deal. Sticking your head in the sand and crossing your fingers while hoping nothing is going to happen is not what anyone would call a good business decision.

The good news is that things have changed. The inconvenience, aggravation and expense barriers have all been knocked down. Here’s what I’m talking about.

How To Help Others and Create a New Income Stream!

Social media, digital and other technologies have made it easier for everyone of our online friends and business owners to have a top-rated lawyer available to answer questions and do almost anything else that needs to be done.

At the same time, these new technologies also allow us to create new profit centers in our businesses. For those of you who know me appreciate how much value I place on diversification and creating multiple income streams. Now, in today’s world, doing so has never been smarter or easier.

For example…

I’m a lawyer in California but I also do a bunch of non-legal business consulting via my online sites. Each week, I’m contacted by people and companies located around the country. Often times I realize they have legal questions or legal/business needs and need help.

The high number of contacts I’ve made across the country is because of my branding and social media efforts. My audience is no longer local, it’s global. As an online business owner, I’m guessing it’s probably the same with you.

This is why I’m sharing this information with you. I want to show you how to add value to others while also including the LegalShield service to your weekly business efforts. This product and service is allowing me to help people around the United States while adding a new profit center to my consulting efforts.

It doesn’t take a lot of time. We’re interacting with and engaging with other online business people anyway. When you discover they are doing business without the help or advice of a lawyer on retainer, all you have to do is send them to your legal plan web site to get information. When they sign up, they get help and you get paid.

Several companies offer legal plans, but there’s only one that I recommend. It’s called LegalShield, and they are the leader in the industry. A good friend of mine for more than twenty years, David Ward, who’s also a lawyer, has had his family Membership for many years and uses it all the time. I have a plan for my family and business too.

David and I have both selected to affiliate with LegalShield instead of other companies for several reasons:

  • They’ve been in the business over 40 years and are available in all 50 states and 4 Canadian Provinces
  • They are an established service with 1.6 million members in 50 states and 4 Canadian provinces
  • They offer plans for consumers and small businesses; their plans are also offered as an employee benefit at tens of thousands of companies
  • All areas of the law are covered; all legal services are provided to Members for free or at a 25% discount
  • Their plan covers the entire family for as little as $20/mo. A small business can get coverage for as little as $49/mo.
  • They are the only company with a “closed system” (i.e., not referrals); this allows them to maintain quality control
  • Nearly all of their provider law firms are top AV-rated (best in ability and ethics)
  • They also offer one of the best identity theft protection plans available

First, Here’s a Bit More Information About the Plans and Coverage

Since David has been doing this much longer than me, let’s use him as an example.

Over the years, David has referred hundreds of people who have signed up for a LegalShield plan. He believes it’s a great value. Even if you don’t want to sell the plans you may want to consider getting a plan to protect your family and business just like David and I have. Click here to see what the LegalShield plan membership page and various plans looks like.

Look at all the different plans and details. This is the page you would send people and businesses to who need legal help. Again, almost every single online business owner I’ve met since first doing the digital dance back in 1996, and I’m talking hundreds, if not thousands of owners, need this service!

Commissions and Passive Income!

How much can you earn doing this? You can earn a few hundred to a few thousand dollars a month on a casual basis, simply by referring people to your LegalShield website. Or, if you put some time and effort into it, you can earn a six-figure income, as David and others have done.

The best part is that commissions are residual–you get paid every year your referral renews their Membership. Residual income allows you to build a retirement income. The residual income aspect of this business model is what appealed to me. Although many friends of mine earn a lot of money, most are not putting away enough cash for retirement. The LegalShield business model will allow them to now do so and build that retirement income.

In David’s first month as a marketing Associate with LegalShield, he signed up a few people and earned an extra $300. No, not a lot of money, but by his fifth month, he was earning an extra $3000 a month on a part time basis. Within a few years David was earning more in his “little side business” than many people earn in their full-time job.

David didn’t earn all that money himself, however. He signed up a lot of other people who heard what he was doing and wanted to do it, too. The company now pays David a percentage of all the business he signs up (an override). The people David signed up signed up other individuals, as well as insurance agents and brokers, real estate and mortgage brokers, financial planners, business owners, their clients and personal friends, and as this network grew, so did his income.

As online business owners with social media relationships around the country, we can do the same thing. I’ve already started!

How I’m Sharing The Service

Whenever I see a friend doing business online, I share the membership plan.

When the topic of creating a corporation, LLC, or reviewing documents comes up, I share the membership plan.

When someone I know needs to talk to a lawyer or have letters written (collection, cease and desist…), I share the membership plan.

For online friends of mine who have families, I share the membership plan so they can get their estate planning done (its free with the family plan).

When I talk to online business owners who are serious about protecting their business assets and making smart decisions, I share the plan.

Last time I checked, most of these items apply to almost everyone we know doing business online. And the last time I checked, most of our friends don’t have a lawyer or law firm helping them with any of this.

Depending on my online connection’s needs and circumstances, I’m sharing one or more of the different membership plans offered by LegalShield.

So, there you have it. That’s what I’m doing to help protect my social media community. It helps others (even if they don’t know that they need help- normally the case until it’s too late) while earning extra income. You can do the same thing while building a retirement income for yourself.

This is the page you send people to who are interested in becoming part of your business team. By the way, if you like what you see, you can use the same link to immediately join my team and get started.

If you have questions, contact me. I’ll answer your questions and tell you more about how other online business owners and I have and are building successful LegalShield businesses.

Make each day your masterpiece!

Mitch Jackson, Esq.

P.S. There are many large companies, with household names, and municipalities, school districts, unions, et. al. who offer the membership to their employees in their benefit plans. In addition, several prominent individuals, who use and endorse the LegalShield membership include the former Attorney General of Mississippi, Michael Moore (filed the class action against big tobacco which settled for $200+ billion); Mary Fallin, former Oklahoma Governor and Attorney General, and Mark Shurtleff, former Attorney General of Utah.
