Steps
These are the steps we take to help you plan and complete your estate plan. Depending on your needs, we can personalize each step to make sure you are comfortable with the process and to help you get things done. Normally it takes several weeks to get your estate plan completed.
Initial Consultation
The first thing we do is schedule a short FREE 15 minute live Zoom or phone call to meet, answer your questions, and see if we can help and add value.
Payment Plan
We offer our virtual (safe social distancing) estate plans as follows. Please note that we’re not a good fit for all potential estate planning clients. Once we confirm during our initial free consultation (mentioned above) that we can help you, we will also confirm in writing your plan amount and billing preference. There are never any surprises and everything we do is designed to earn your trust and business for many years to come. With the above in mind, please note that 99% of our estate planning services are offered as follows:
$TBD for our virtual estate plan. This includes everything. Payment options are:
Single Payment $TBD (discounted): We extend a 10% discount for single payment plans (most popular).
Payment Plan on $TBD over 6 months: The monthly billing cycle will begin with a $TBD payment. The remaining $TBD will be automatically billed for the remaining 5 months.
Retainer Agreement
If we both decide to move forward, we then send you a digital retainer (agreement) for your review and signature.
Complete Client Questionnaire and Payment
Once we’re notified the retainer has been digitally signed, we then send you a private link to an online new client questionnaire that you can complete at your convenience. Depending on the payment plan you select (a one-time payment offering you a 10% discount or, our convenient 6 month payment plan), we will also send you a link for the initial payment. Note that with our 6 month payment plan, you will automatically be billed each month for that month’s agreed to payment. You can make secured payments with your credit card or PayPal. This keeps things simple.
Draft Copy of Your Estate Plan
We prepare a draft copy of your estate plan using state-of-the-art legal software. Each client is different but generally speaking, the estate plan usually includes a revocable living trust, pour-over will, durable health care power of attorney, durable asset management power of attorney, living will and other related documents. You will be sent a digital copy of these documents through our 24/7 client portal. You can review the documents at your convenience.
Phone Call or Live Zoom
After you have had a chance to review the draft documents, we will have another conversation over the phone or private live Zoom to answer any questions you may have to finalize the documents.
Final Documents
We will take all of the above information and use our 34 years of legal experience to prepare your final estate planning documents. They will be sent to you via our private client portal for digital signatures and notarization.
We will provide links and instructions to help you get everything done quickly and easily. Our goal is to keep things simple.
If you have any remaining questions, we will schedule a final telephone call or private Zoom to answer address any remaining questions and confirm that everything that needs to be done is completed.
