When AI Crosses Lines: Exploring Defamation in the Digital Age

As the AI industry continues to evolve, it frequently treads into uncharted legal territory. A recent case caught my eye – OpenAI, the creator of the popular AI model ChatGPT, is facing a defamation lawsuit after the AI allegedly fabricated legal accusations against a radio host in Georgia.

As a private mediator and lawyer who’s been litigating cases for 37 years, this new case sparked a line of inquiry in my mind:

Can an AI or its parent company be held liable for defamation?
