As the AI industry continues to evolve, it frequently treads into uncharted legal territory. A recent case caught my eye – OpenAI, the creator of the popular AI model ChatGPT, is facing a defamation lawsuit after the AI allegedly fabricated legal accusations against a radio host in Georgia.
As a private mediator and lawyer who’s been litigating cases for 37 years, this new case sparked a line of inquiry in my mind:
Can an AI or its parent company be held liable for defamation?
I shared my thoughts in today’s post on LinkedIn.
