Last Night I Cleaned My Snapchat House and It Felt Good

Once or twice a year I pull everything out of my garage, aka my “man cave,” and then clean things up, give stuff away, and toss out everything else I no longer need.

Same thing with my law firm office. Every December we shred old files, get rid of old books and furniture and cherry everything out, so it looks like new. Sometimes we slap up fresh paint and lay down new carpet.

It feels good to get rid of all the old stuff that we never use and add a bit of spit and polish to everything else. In addition to making everything look good, an annual cleaning of the “man cave” and office also helps me stay organized.

Last night I did the same thing on Snapchat. I got tired of trying to stay on top of hundreds of incoming snaps and stories from people who I don’t know or just don’t follow any more. During Thursday Night Football, I fired up the iPhone and deleted several hundred people from my Snapchat account.

I’m not going to lie. It felt good.

This morning, my Snapchat account is lean, clean, and an organized machine. Everyone who I want to follow is right there waiting for me to click, watch and engage. Easy peasy. I should have done this a long time ago.

Because this was such a liberating experience, I’m thinking about doing the same thing to my Facebook account over the weekend. How about you?
