Why I Like Snapchat?

Mitch Jackson on SnapchatMy answer is easy. It’s an outstanding platform that allows all of us to easily and quickly share our stories.

As with most of the social platforms, I look at Snapchat as another digital welcome mat to my law firm, services and even my life. And apparently I’m not alone. Check out these recent Snapchat statistics and then join me on the platform (I’m CA_Lawyer).

Snapchat:

  • 100 million daily users;
  • 400 million Snapchats per day;
  • 6 billion daily video views;
  • 1 billion Snapchat Stories viewed each day;
  • Used by 18% of all social media users with 30% of U.S. Millennials accessing the platform regularly;
  • 8,796 photos shared each second;
  • 77% of all college students use Snapchat daily;
  • When it comes to selfies: 50% of all male college students and 77% of all female use the platform.
  • All of these people, and their friends are my potential clients.

That’s why I use Snapchat.

  1. These stats are astonishing! As someone that typically writes about teens and social media – I knew the kids were there – not so much adults, but I see the trend moving. I have been on Snapchat for just about 9 months – for only one reason, to communicate with my 28 year old son (who by the way Mitch, moved to CA!) Now you are giving me an education.

    What I don’t understand is – how you are inserting your text – and I really haven’t found any user friendly articles (well, for our age-group) on how to use Snapchat to our advantage. I completely understand the up-side of it (marketing), however you are taking it to a new level – that I’m watching to see (and hoping) you give us insights on how to create these fancy Snapchats 🙂

    I don’t collect followers on there – like I said, I only engage on there for my son – and now you! So – in your spare time…. anxious to see a Snapchat 101 blog post from you.. 🙂

    No rush – I have all of 2016 to learn about LiveStream – and I have Periscoping on my list too – but since I am almost there with Snapchat – thought I would start there.

    Thanks!

  2. Hi Sue- Many young adults and business owners/leaders avoid email, podcasts and blogs like the plague. They embrace Snapchat, Instagram and other “instant” sharing platforms. That’s probably why your son is using Snapchat 🙂 All it takes is to slightly modify your mindset just a tad and rather than trying to figure out “why” people are gravitating to these platforms, simply appreciate it and jump in head first. Can’t wait to see you on Periscope, Snapchat, and even Facebook Live. The “how to” link I shared in the post with Tyler J. Anderson and Carlos Gil is a great place to start. Have an amazing 2016 my friend!
