The problem is that you keep running in to a wall. No matter how many times you share your message or how high you stand up on the soapbox and how loud you shout, the other (your audience, your jury, your prospect) is not taking action and you’re not getting the results you want. There’s a wall blocking your message from the other.
Here’s what I recommend that you do.
Take a moment, turn around, and walk 20 paces away from the communication. Stop, turn back around and take a good look at exactly HOW you have been trying to get over that wall.
Truth be told, most people have all the information, supplies and tools they need to effectively communicate with the other. Sometimes to get the results you’re looking for, it’s simply a matter of approaching your communication goal from a slightly different perspective.
As Mark Twain said, “The difference between the right word and the almost right word is the difference between lightning and a lightning bug.” Be smart and make sure you’re using the right words delivered the right way to make an impact. When faced with challenges, remind yourself to step back, get a running start, and approach your communication goals from a slightly different direction so that you can easily leap over any communication barriers that stand in your way.
I hope I’ve helped you jump to the other side of the barrier. If you like this post and blog, it would mean the world to me if you’d please share it with your family and friends (use buttons below).
